January 1978 (Showa 53) Tournament

This is a commemorative masterpiece for the 55th yokozuna, Toshimitsu Kitanoumi, who achieved 15 wins in 15 matches and achieved his 10th career (third undefeated championship) title in the top division.

This is the official commemorative plaque faithfully scaled down and reproduced by Mainichi Shimbun for the massive championship plaque of Sumo wrestler, the highest division champion in the top division (about five tatami mats), displayed in Ryogoku .
