Bruce Lee, a top disciple of Shaolin Temple and a martial arts master, ) is invited by Braithwaite (Jeffrey Weeks) of the International Information Bureau to participate in a martial arts tournament held every three years on an island owned by Han (Shi Kien), who also studied martial arts at Shaolin Temple but was expelled after falling into the path of evil. His participation in the tournament was only public; Lee was reluctant to undercover Han's island, which was suspected of criminal activity, but upon returning home, his father told him that several years earlier, his sister Su Lin (Angela Mao) had committed suicide after being cornered by Han's formidable henchman Ohara (Bob Wall) and his associates, and he vowed revenge on Han.
