Bruce Lee, a top disciple of Shaolin Temple and a martial arts master, ) is invited by Braithwaite (Jeffrey Weeks) of the International Information Bureau to participate in a martial arts tournament held every three years on an island owned by Han (Shi Kien), who also studied martial arts at Shaolin Temple but was expelled after falling into the path of evil.
