Due to political turmoil, his family starved to death without food. Zhu Yuanzhang had a skin disease on his head, which was sore and smelled terribly. Because of this, scratching his head became a habit. While fishing, he meets a monk (Wu Taishan) from a temple called Huanggaku Temple, and since he has lost his family, he ends up getting into trouble at the temple. However, the area was under the control of Chen Youliang (Carter Wang), who controlled the area from Hubei to Jiangxi. Yuanzhang took care of Youliang while honing his martial arts skills. Youliang was greedy and jealous, and he disliked the talented Yuanzhang. Youliang, who was aiming for the throne, became increasingly jealous when Yuanzhang began studying under Guo Zixing (Yue Fa), who had raised an army as part of the Red Turban Army, and he began plotting to assassinate him. Yuanzhang hears from Ma (Hoang Lin), the adopted daughter of Zixing's future wife, that Youliang is plotting Zixing's assassination, and together with the temple monks, tries to stop Youliang's tyranny.
